Summary: Excellent coordinator, photographer & minister (justice of the peace) just made me so happy that I had chosen the chapel at Treasure Island for our special day.
Content: After deciding to get married in Vegas, I hadn't really put a lot of initial thought into where to get married. After all, I figured it was Las Vegas, you could get married anywhere. As the big day drew closer, I tried to do some research and found little in the way of helpful reviews, until this website. Having come to this site with a few hotel chapels in mind, it was reading the reviews that made me choose Treasure Island and we are both so happy with the choice.
We chose the "Destiny" package, which included the limousine to the courthouse, hair & Make-up for the bride and a petite suite for the night. Going to the courthouse was a breeze, we went the day before the wedding and there was only 1 other person in there. I would suggest printing the application form online and filling it out prior to going in, it saves you a few minutes, and you can't go up to the clerk until the form is fully completed, they have a table there with pencils to fill out the forms.
I had decided I did not want to see my groom on the day of the wedding until the ceremony, and the TI chapel is perfect for that, they have a cool hidden little hallway for the bride to hang out in that my husband probably would have never found if he tried. Note that you do go down this hallway afterwards to get your pictures taken, so it's not always going to be a secret. I had my hair done at the salon, the stylist was great and gave me exactly what I wanted, the makeup was good (I think the esthetician was having a bad day) and had I wanted to get ready in the bridal dressing room I was told that would have been perfectly okay to do within my alloted 1/2 hour. When I did arrive, I discovered that my groom was already there, but they had him hidden away for my arrival, so accomodating they were just so it wouldn't ruin our day.
We had 13 guests at our wedding and the TI chapel was the perfect size, there was still room in there for at least 10 more people and everyone was comfortable. Our minister was great, we had a non-religious ceremony, and everything about the wedding from start to finish was perfect. Jennifer, the coordinator, was so friendly & helpful, Heather was our photographer and she is a very talented and personable so the 40 minutes or so of pictures didn't feel too bad. We did not feel rushed at all and we felt as we should on our wedding day, that it was our special day and everyone was there just for us.
After the ceremony was over, you walk down the aisle with pictures being taken and then led into the next door chapel for more pictures, all of our guests were invited in to watch but warning you cannot take pictures in here so if your guests can get in here right away and bride and groom can pose, you might be able to get 1 or 2 minutes of pictures before the photographer will let you know that you are not able to take any photos or video. We got shots with everyone who attended our wedding and it was great.
If I had to do it all over again, I would not have chosen a cascade style bouquet - though pretty, it is extremely heavy & I found it difficult to hold through most of the ceremony and the pictures.
We enjoyed our experience so much at Treasure Island that our next trip to Vegas we are planning to stay there because we enjoyed it so much.
